Entity Powers and Duties, Activity Summary
The Board investigates allegations of misconduct by Minnesota judges and other judicial officers and recommends judicial discipline to the Supreme Court, including censure, suspension, retirement, or removal of judges.  The Board also educates the judiciary and the public on the role of the Board on Judicial Standards and on the Code of Judicial Conduct.

ACTIVITY SUMMARY

Considered and investigated 33 complaints in 2020. Action was taken by the board in nine instances concerning the judge or referee by issuing public or private discipline, making adjustments, imposing conditions upon the judge. The board provided educational programs for the judges, campaign candidates, judges-elect, lawyers and the public. The staff responded to inquiries from judges and the public and distributed published materials for the general public on the Board's purpose and procedures.
