Rural Health Advisory Committee
The Rural Health Advisory Committee is a Governor-appointed committee that advises the Commissioner of Health and other state agencies on rural health issues. Members come from a wide variety of backgrounds, including healthcare providers, legislative members, and consumers. Consumers are committee members living in rural Minnesota who represent the healthcare related needs and concerns of the communities they live in. There are two consumer positions on the committee, and at least one must be from a community experiencing health disparities. Committee meetings are held approximately five times a year, and the majority of meetings are held via teleconference, with select meetings taking place in person.
